“I’ve never had a grad party before!” That was all I said and then poof! Guy and my Mother-in-law threw me a lovely party. When you grow up with little, you learn to expect little. Guy shows me every day that I deserve much more than that.
It was a strange feeling to allow others to do something like this for me. I typically tend to be not so laid back about planning, but I let things go and it was the most amazing feeling. A grad party may seem normal, everyday-like, even trivial; but this act of generosity brightened up my already wonderful day. I was beaming with joy and delight.
Guy and my Mother-in-law considered everything. From all-vegetarian appetizer options, a deliciously sweet cake from The Cakery, and a sangria that packed a punch. I had such a lovely time hosting my family and friends in our home. This could have even been considered a house-warming party as well. This was the first time we have had so many guests in our new house.
To top it all off, I found the perfect graduation party dress. I found this dress and shoes at Nordstrom. You can use my Liketoknow.it page to buy it yourself. I thought it was the perfect mix of modest, but romantic. This solid red dress and my tropical floral printed shoes felt like a great way to greet the summer season. Not to mention, these shoes are incredibly comfortable, I am seriously considering getting the same in different colors.
I feel as though words to do not equate the love and appreciation I feel for my family. They sure make me feel like the luckiest girl in all the world!
